Is A Laundry Chute Right For You?Laundry Chutes are a fantastic product but unfortunately not everyone can have one so let’s cover who a laundry chute is a good fit for and who a laundry chute is a bad fit for. Everyone has a misconception of these huge American townhouses when in reality that is absolutely not what you need. All you really need is 400mm x 400mm space. Ideally for us a blank canvas is perfect, or you might be developing a property, or you might be building a new home and with the more stories you have, the more convenience a laundry chute would add to your life. But just as an FYI, we can install laundry chutes in a regular house that isn’t being renovated as long as you don’t mind some minor disruption and a bit of dust, but we promise to clean up after ourselves. If you’re unsure on where to actually have your laundry chute fitted, we can help with all of that. It can go on the outside, it can go on the inside, we can get creative with it. We can have them in bathrooms, in bedrooms, you choose, and we help. For those of you who are more DIY savvy and fancy fitting your laundry chute yourself, that’s no problem. We can provide you with the product and for more information on how to actually install your laundry chute you can head over and watch the DIY video situated on our website. Another thing we often get asked is whether the laundry chutes have to be straight up and down, and the simple answer is, no! In reality, they do not need to be straight up and down, you can have them curved or bended to fit your home and where you want your laundry to drop but there must be some logic on the route the chute will take through the house. Some people think we can start the laundry chute upstairs on the right side of the house and magically end up on the left side in the utility room, but this just isn’t possible so we do have to work out a design that will work for you and your house. Now let’s talk about who a laundry chute isn’t right for! If you live in a caravan or a barge a laundry chute most definitely wouldn’t be for you. Or, if you’re a prison inmate at HMP, you can’t use a laundry chute as an escape hatch…yes that was a genuine request. Additionally, if you’re expecting a Rolls Royce product at the price of a Ford then a laundry chute isn’t really for you. Laundry chutes aren’t expensive, and they are really good value for money. However, you do have to appreciate that it is going to cost a certain amount of money, especially if you’re wanting the installation as well as the product. We hope this has helped you figure out whether a laundry chute is for you and if you would like anymore information please do get in contact! [Return] |
