Some of the Worst Household Chores that Everyone Has To Do

Everyone has that one chore they hate more than any other. These are some of the most commonly hated household chores.

We all have that one house chore we hate doing, but know we'll have to eventually. This can be different things for different people, and some of the reasons why we hate doing a chore can be hilarious. We looked at and rated various household chores based on how much they're hated and why. You'll definitely be able to guess some of them, and others you'll find surprising, but here are the chores we hate the most.

Vacuuming

Generally, vacuuming is seen as one of the easiest household chores- you're just pushing a relatively light-weight machine around the floor, and the results are quick and easy to see. So why do some people hate vacuuming?
For starters, when you properly vacuum, you have to move your furniture around the room, picking up chairs, tables, lamps and more. A good vacuuming session sees many people on their hands and knees with the vacuum attachment, trying to get into the small corners of every room. Another reason concluded that vacuums are very loud, and can encourage erratic behaviour from household pets.

Dishes

Washing dishes can take almost an hour for a family meal, and often involves running multiple bowlfuls of hot, soapy water. It's often a thankless task, done whilst everyone else is relaxing and having a calm afternoon. Dishes are also one of those tasks that kind of never end, which many people find extremely annoying.

Taking out the rubbish

It only takes a few minutes once a week, but taking out rubbish and recycling can be simply infuriating to some people. The fact it's often done at night in time for the morning, or you only have one night a week to ensure it's ready to be collected seems to be the root of many people's frustrations.

Bathroom cleaning

Bathroom cleaning is another task that often sees people on their hands and knees, this time, scrubbing away a variety of disgusting bathroom grime. Add in a number of potent bathroom cleaning products and bleach, and it's easy to see why this is one of the most hated household chores.

Laundry

Like dishes, laundry is a chore that never really ends. Unlike dishes though, it comprises of multiple stages. You have to separate your laundry by colour and fabric, choose the right setting, and wait for it to wash before either then putting it in a tumble dryer and risking it shrinking and wrinkling, or you have to wait for it to line-dry. After that, you're still not done, as you have to carefully fold and then put away your laundry, all whilst knowing another load is already piling up. With laundry, you also risk dropping or otherwise losing the odd sock, never to be seen again.
