Which Modern Home Improvement Product Should You Install In Your Home?

We’ve all heard the saying: ‘you can’t have it all’, but here at Laundry Chutes we make sure you don’t need it all because our product is just so valuable!

In recent years, there has been a vast increase in modern home improvement products such as instant hot taps, remote controlled lighting, even TVs that are connected to your bath and obviously laundry chutes! Now, these inventions are as mind-blowing as they sound, but do you need all these new inventions in your home or does one stand out above the rest?

An instant hot tap gives you boiling water, instantly, which is of course is amazing if you’re in desperate need of a cup of tea. Don’t get us wrong, instant hot taps provide a very speedy service without the need for a kettle, and can make your kitchen look sleek and stylish. However, instant hot water taps need professional fitting, so unless you live with a plumber who knows how to install instant hot taps then you’ll have to call in the professionals! Also, not all boiling water taps actually provide boiling water. There’s a subtle but distinct difference between boiling water taps and hot water taps and if you’re fussy about how hot your morning coffee is, you may want to check this out. Overall however, we do think they’re an excellent invention and can definitely improve efficiency within your home.

Next up, let’s talk lighting. What’s so wrong about a light switch? Why are we switching it up? Remote controlled lighting, does have its advantages, like adding convenience and increasing lamp life. But like most things, do also have their disadvantages; wireless systems can be unreliable as wireless technologies are subject to interference and therefore require a higher level of maintenance. As well as this, a badly designed and installed system can be difficult to use even if this is just because it differs from the normal switches people expect. On the other hand, if you’re tech savvy and keep up to date with all the new inventions and how they work then a remote controlled lighting system might be the one for you!

TV’s connected to your bath, that’s a new one for me but it seems to be all the rage for modern home improvements. I mean, how relaxing, being able to enjoy your favourite show whilst indulging in a nice hot bath, I’d love to come home after a long day and dive into the bath to rest my muscles and my mind, whilst having the football on. Are there actually any downsides to that? The answer is, not many, but if you’re wanting an aesthetically pleasing finish in your bathroom then maybe avoid having a TV in there as adding a bathroom TV may disrupt your mission. This is why many interior designers steer clear of bathroom TVs for that very reason and whilst soaking in your bubbles watching Coronation Street may sound appealing, breaking up the clean lines of your bathroom interior with a large, rectangular gadget isn’t for everyone. Nevertheless, I’d still love one myself!

We have saved the best till last… laundry chutes are also a modern home improvement and they’re all about improving your day to day efficiency. Being able to throw your dirty clothes and bed sheets down a laundry chute to go straight to your laundry room saves time, energy and your back after carrying a washing basket that’s full to the brim down the stairs!

Creative and affordable, we have 3 different styles of chutes so you are able to choose one that best fits your needs. As well as this, if you’re up for a bit of DIY our laundry chutes are also fairly easy to install yourself, anyhow if you don’t fancy doing it yourself one of our friendly team can come and fit it for you, and a cup of tea from an instant hot tap will never go a miss!

Not only is a laundry chute convenient and brings ease to your life, but it could also help with getting the kids involved with household chores, they may even be asking to do them for you (or is that extremely wishful thinking)? Regardless, there will be no more dirty laundry in sight! Can you think of any downsides to this ultimate home improvement product, we’ve been designing and supplying chutes for over 10 years and we’ve still not found any!
